HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair (35th Edition)
The 35th Hong Kong Book Fair, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, brings together publishers, authors and readers, promoting the culture of reading. This year, the theme of the year ‘Food Culture • Future Living’ showcases a curated selection of literary works and books related to food culture. Readers are invited to explore culinary traditions and histories from diverse perspectives, understand the connection between diet and healthy living and discover how technology is shaping future eating habits and lifestyle. The Book Fair features a rich and diverse array of content, including seminars with renowned authors from around the world, a diverse range of cultural activities and the ‘World of Art and Culture’ zone, all to inspire the public to explore reading the world.
This year's ‘World of Art and Culture’ zone will align with the theme of the year and continue to support the city’s positioning as an east-meets-west centre for international cultural exchange. It will feature thematic exhibitions with eight artists presenting meticulously curated and diverse exhibits, including books, dynamic videos, musical compositions and relevant literature. From their professional perspectives, they will offer unique interpretations of food culture. Additionally, various consulates in Hong Kong will contribute collections, coming together to create a cultural feast that transcends borders and blends the ancient with the modern.
The fair features eight seminar series. In collaboration with Ming Pao and Asia Weekly, the ‘Renowned Writers’ seminar series continues to invite renowned writers from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to engage with readers through a series of seminars. The English and International Reading Seminar Series features authors from different places of the world, who will share their creative journeys and insights, guiding the audience to immerse themselves in the world of writing.
