Hidden behind a discreet grey door on On Wo Lane,is home to more than 300 whiskies. Whether you’re after a bottle from Scotland or Japan, or something more adventurous like a drop from Tasmania, you’ll find what you want here.
If the name sounds odd, know this: Mizunara is a library for whisky. Tucked away on the fourth floor of an anonymous commercial building in Wan Chai, the bar has a superb collection, especially of Japanese types. Don’t believe us? Try the Nikka 40, a blend that contains whiskies up to 40 years old. It’s only HK$8,000 a glass.
A sister establishment to the renowned Yardbird restaurant, which is within walking distance,boasts not only exceptional Japanese cuisine but a mighty fine range of whiskies from the same country. There are rarities here you’re not likely to find anywhere else. They also offer a mean range of whisky highballs if you’re after something longer.
