Anti-epidemic Hygiene: Hong Kong is clean and ready

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched the Anti-epidemic Hygiene Measures Certification Scheme in partnership with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). The scheme will raise awareness of epidemic prevention and provide unified guidelines on hygiene measures for shopping malls, restaurants, retail outlets, hotels, attractions, inbound tour operators and other tourism-related sectors. The HKQAA will conduct random visits to certified venues for continued inspections, to ensure visitors can travel with confidence and have pleasant trip.

Anti-Epidemic Hygiene Measures Certification Scheme

Scheme members displaying this badge have implemented these key measures:

  • All staff have their temperature checked and wear a surgical mask.
  • Hand hygiene amenities are available to all e.g. hand sanitiser with 60-80% alcohol.
  • Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
  • Good ventilation is maintained with systems cleaned regularly.

Unannounced checks continue after certification to ensure excellent hygiene is maintained and certification is withdrawn from any business that fails. For extra piece of mind, you can also check the list of certified merchants.
