The exhibition features about 300 pieces or sets of cultural relics from the Tang dynasty, including 49 grade-one cultural relics, from 28 museums and cultural institutions in 10 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of Chinese Mainland, and 29 archaeological finds from the collection of the Antiquities and Monuments Office of Development Bureau in Hong Kong. Divided into eight sections, the exhibition showcases the confidence, openness and inclusiveness of the flourishing Tang era while highlighting Hong Kong as an important hub on the Maritime Silk Road.

From July 2025, the new season of the Tea House Theatre Experience offers a brand-new selection of songs, instrumental musical pieces and performance excerpts.

Presented by Tea House Rising Stars Troupe and curated and directed by legendary Cantonese opera artist Law Ka-ying, the Tea House Theatre Experience is designed to introduce new audiences to Cantonese opera.

The 90-minute showcase selection of songs, instrumental musical pieces and performance excerpts, demonstrates various traditional styles through a varying programme of works exploring tales of romance, comedy, tragedy and martial arts. The experience also includes narration by an expert moderator offering insight into the history of the art form.

The first comprehensive exhibition in Hong Kong dedicated to the pinnacle of Mughal art, featuring over 100 precious artefacts from the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in the UK. The exhibition celebrates the extraordinary artistic achievements of the Golden Age of the Mughal Empire (ca. 1560–1660) of the three remarkable emperors: Akbar (r. 1556–1605), Jahangir (r. 1605–1627) and Shah Jahan (r. 1628–1658).

This exhibition showcases artefacts mainly on loan from the National Museum of China. It is enriched by precious historical photographs, videos and multimedia programmes that provide visitors with insights into the sacrifices and contributions made by the Chinese people, as well as the support of Hong Kong people for their Chinese Mainland compatriots during the three years and eight months of Japanese occupation. This fosters an appreciation for the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation.

Established in 1960, the Min Chiu Society is one of the most prestigious collectors’ groups in Hong Kong and is internationally acclaimed. In celebration of its 65th anniversary this year, the Hong Kong Museum of Art collaborated with the Society again to present this exhibition. Featuring over 400 sets of precious Chinese artefacts from their collections, it is the largest-scale edition to date. The exhibits, including Chinese painting and calligraphy, ceramics, bronzes, lacquerware, jades, bamboo carvings, furniture and snuff bottles, span from the Neolithic period through the 20th century, demonstrating the refined connoisseurship and supreme artistic achievement inherited from the past.

The annual ‘Asia+ Festival’ (Asia+) celebrates the cultural diversity of Asia and the ‘Belt and Road’ regions, showcasing their unique arts and cultures. Asia+ is a testament to the endless possibilities of cultural collaboration through a variety of events running from September to November, including stage performances, exhibitions and an outdoor carnival featuring top-notch artists and troupes.

Dream Rooms: Environments by Women Artists 1950s–Now showcases the works of trailblazing women artists whose environments made a lasting impact on the history of visual art, illuminating contemporary artworks and offering glimpses into the future. The exhibition spans several generations of artists from Asia, Europe, and North and South America, presenting full-scale reproductions of each work. These reconstructions are as close to the originals as possible, developed through research and collaboration with experts and the artists themselves.

This year’s Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival includes various activities that allow both locals and visitors to experience the festive atmosphere and appreciate traditional arts and crafts. Apart from spectacular lantern displays, the carnival will also feature intangible cultural heritage elements such as traditional lantern making.

The panoramic exhibition Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 presents twenty-first century art that addresses changes in social realities in China and their impacts on the world. Framed through the dual lenses of digital technology and the manufacturing supply chain, the two chapters, titled Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud and the forthcoming Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe (27 February – 31 May 2026), trace a constellation of innovative and alternative artistic practices as well as cultural transformations during this period.

Navigating the Cloud presents more than 50 artworks by over 35 artists and groups who examine the transformations in contemporary art practices and in society brought on by the spread of the internet and digital technologies. The exhibition showcases artists whose practices reflect the integration of the internet, social media platforms, and digital technologies into all aspects of daily life.

The artworks in Navigating the Cloud are presented in eight thematic sections that highlight subjects including information bubbles, artificial intelligence, communities formed through the internet, and the changing nature of human labour with the use of digital technologies. These sections guide the audience to reflect on how we can overcome boundaries and divisions in order to 'stay connected' in a world where the digital and physical realms are already inseparable.

Heritage Fiesta cum Roving Exhibition 2025 features ten historic buildings that once served as filming locations for movies. During the event period, the public is invited to visit these historic buildings during designated opening hours, join free guided tours, or explore the related roving exhibition to embark on a journey through cinematic heritage.

The global UTS Tour tennis league will make its debut in Asia this October in Hong Kong, bringing together fast-paced tennis and crowd-inspired entertainment. This event will feature top international tennis stars from around the globe, including Australia’s No.1 and 2024 UTS Grand Final London champion Alex de Minaur, 2024 UTS Oslo champion Andrey Rublev and China’s tennis star Zhang Zhizhen.

As part of the Hong Kong Tennis Series, some of the world’s best professional female tennis players will take part in the tournament at Victoria Park, including four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, Australia No. 1 Daria Kasatkina, 2024 Hong Kong Tennis 125 champion Ajla Tomljanović, and rising Filipino star Alexandra Eala. Catch them in action as they compete in both singles and doubles!​

Curated and organised by Hong Kong’s renowned creative brand AllRightsReserved, the world’s first ‘Water Parade by AllRightsReserved at Victoria Harbour’ will bring together globally celebrated IPs and artists. Four IPs will be transformed into giant floating inflatable sculptures, making their debut at sea and forming a dream fleet to parade across Victoria Harbour on 1 November, cruising between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Additionally, an eight-day Water Parade Market will be held along the Central and Western District Promenade from 25 October to 1 November, featuring even more IPs and diverse interactive entertainment.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will launch the 11th edition of Muse Fest HK 2025, with the theme 'Museum Anniversary' celebrating the anniversaries of six museums in the city. The museums and art spaces under the LCSD will lead members of the public in the exploration of Hong Kong's rich and distinctive cultural heritage and artistic diversity.

The high-level international cricket competition, Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, will return to the city this year. A total of 12 cricketing teams will participate in this tournament, including India, ranked first in the world.

The National Games of the People’s Republic of China, held once every four years, is the country’s highest-level national multi-sports event. The 15th National Games will be co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao for the first time. Hong Kong will stage eight competition events, including fencing, basketball (men U22), track cycling, golf, handball (men), rugby sevens, triathlon and beach volleyball, as well as one mass participation event, bowling. Additionally, athletics marathon and road cycling events are planned to take place across all three locations.

To celebrate these significant events, the public will have the opportunity to meet two charming mascots based on the Chinese white dolphin, a Grade I National Key Protected Species and a ‘National Treasure of the Sea’. Named Xiyangyang and Lerongrong, these adorable mascots symbolise joy, harmony and unity, promoting inclusivity throughout the games.

BLAST Premier Hong Kong Rivals 2025

The Hong Kong Philharmonic hosts its iconic free annual outdoor music extravaganza, Symphony Under The Stars, every autumn. This popular event attracts over ten-thousands people each year, who enjoy a concert featuring orchestral favourites performed by the Hong Kong Philharmonic under the night sky – complete with fireworks – and the city's spectacular skyline as the backdrop. This year, the concert will be conducted by Maestro Tan Dun. Bring your family, friends and a picnic, and experience a truly Hong Kong event.

This festive season, Tai Kwun transforms the historic site into the city's most enchanting cultural playground, where each day unfolds like an advent calendar of joy. A magnificent 12-metre Christmas tree illuminates the Parade Ground in golden light, while whimsical playground installations bring pure joy to everyone. Be captivated by breathtaking contemporary circus performances, alongside specially curated festive experiences presented by Tai Kwun tenants that embody the magic of the season.

Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest international outdoor music and arts festival, takes place at the Central Harbourfront from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 December.

The early lineup includes acclaimed British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier and feted Hong Kong singer-songwriter Panther Chan on Friday; followed by Indonesian rap star Rich Brian and former Portishead frontwoman Beth Gibbons on Saturday; and Scottish indie legends Franz Ferdinand and Mandarin pop star Yoga Lin on Sunday.

The initial lineup announcement also features British singer-songwriter Passenger and German electro-house hellraisers Digitalism (DJ set) on Friday; US alt-indie favourite Soccer Mommy, Japanese indie-popsters Chilli Beans., Thai indie darling Phum Viphurit and Japanese uprising vocalist-songwriter AKASAKI on Saturday; and on Sunday, Canadian post-rock masters Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Californian indie heroes TV Girl, UK-based DJ Riria, and Hong Kong mythical post-punk legends, Bitter Tea of General Yeng, returning after a 40-year silence for their first-ever live performance. The National Games for Persons with Disabilities of the People’s Republic of China, featuring Paralympic sports, is the nation’s highest-level multi-sport event for individuals with disabilities, while the National Special Olympic Games encourage participation in sports competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Both events are typically held every four years.

Hong Kong will host four competition events: boccia, wheelchair fencing, para table tennis (TT11) and Special Olympics table tennis. Additionally, Hong Kong will organise one mass participation event of para dance sport.
