In celebration of the Year of the Horse, which symbolises strength, success and positive momentum in traditional Chinese culture, Hong Kong is preparing to usher in the Chinese New Year with a spectacular event on the first evening of the year in Tsim Sha Tsui. This occasion will feature a vibrant parade adorned with horse-inspired floats, accompanied by exciting performances from local and international troupes, creating a dynamic start to the Year of the Horse. This dazzling and energetic traditional festival highlights Hong Kong’s rich multicultural appeal and extends heartfelt wishes to visitors from around the world. Come and join the plethora of festivities for a memorable beginning to the year.

The celebration kicks off with a variety of street performances starting at 6pm.

Floats and Performing Groups Parade Route

  • Starting point The parade will start at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.
  • It will then proceed along Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road.
  • End point It will finish at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel.
  • The first float and parade group will arrive at Canton Road at around 8:30pm and at Nathan Road at around 9pm.
  • The last float will arrive at the endpoint at around 10:30pm.

Tips:
  • Please refer to the parade route map for zone locations.
  • Seating A, B and C will open at 6:45pm for ticket holders. Please be seated before 7:30pm.
  • To enhance your spectating experience, it is recommended to have a light meal and use the restroom before the parade begins. Toilets are available near the spectator stands. Please check with the on-site staff for details.
Ticketing Details:
  • Ticket sales for Seating A, B and C will begin on 7 February at 8am on a first-come, first-served basis. Each visitor will receive a numbered ticket indicating a designated time on the same day when they should return to purchase their Night Parade admission ticket(s).
  • There is a maximum limit of four tickets per person per transaction.
  • Cathay members can present their membership card to enjoy a HK$50 discount on each ticket, with each member allowed to purchase up to two discounted tickets.
  • Seniors aged 65 or above and children aged 3-11 are entitled to a 50% discount, while children under 3 years old who do not require a seat can enter for free. Concessionary ticket holders must be Hong Kong residents and are required to present valid identification documents upon admission.
  • Bona fide visitors arriving in Hong Kong after 7 February are welcome to contact us for assistance

Free Viewing Along the Parade Route

Enjoy spectator-friendly spots without cost along the parade route of Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road. To secure a preferred spot with an optimal view, early arrival is recommended.

How to Get There

It is recommended to travel by MTR to access the parade route along Canton Road, Haiphong Road and Nathan Road. Please disembark at Tsim Sha Tsui station or East Tsim Sha Tsui station.

Note: The roads surrounding the parade route will be closed to vehicles two to three hours before and after the parade. Please stay updated with the Transport Department‘s website, or government announcements through local media sources.

Parade Float Exhibition and Performances

From 18 February to 3 March (the second to fifteenth day of Chinese New Year), the floats will appear at various locations across the city to continue the excitement of the parade. For the first time, eight distinctive floats will be displayed at Kai Tak Sports Park until 26 February. On the second and third days of Chinese New Year (18 and 19 February), two stages will be added, featuring multiple participating Chinese Mainland and international groups who will perform live, enhancing the festive atmosphere for the audience. Stay tuned for details on the performances.

The remaining four floats will be displayed at Ocean Park, Tai Po Lam Tsuen, Sha Tin Racecourse and Victoria Park. Performing teams will also visit shopping malls and attractions across the city to perform, creating wonderful memories and celebrating Chinese New Year.

Kai Tak Sports Park Chinese New Year Celebration

Starting from 30 January, ‘Kai Tak Sports Park Chinese New Year Celebration’ presents a series of exciting activities, including attractive shopping rewards, large-scale Chinese New Year Fairs and the magnificent Float Display. Shoppers can enjoy fabulous shopping rewards upon purchases at Kai Tak Mall, including exclusive red packets featuring designs of the Kai Tak Stadium, shopping vouchers worth up to HK$330 and complimentary tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland!
