Established in 1967, Hip Yee Hing Embroidery is one of the few remaining shops in Hong Kong that still preserve the traditional technique of crafting cotton bedding by hand. Its founder learned how to make pure cotton bedding while working as an apprentice in Shanghai. He passed on the skill of the disappearing craft to his daughter, who now manages the store. The shop used to sell embroidered items and make lapel flowers for wedding banquets from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Today, Hip Yee Hing mainly offers quilts, pillows, mattresses and bed covers. The quality of their handwoven quilts is exceptional, with each piece being comfortably warm and made to last for decades — a valuable addition to any home.
