Explore China’s imperial past
The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) offers a glimpse into China’s opulent imperial court. It aims to be a leading institution for Chinese arts and culture while facilitating dialogue among world civilisations.

A world-class collection of imperial treasures
Drawing on the collection from The Palace Museum in Beijing and other important cultural institutions worldwide, the museum is across nine galleries covering approximately 30,000 square metres. The HKPM introduces the history and culture of the Palace Museum through exceptional works, offering insight into the lives and artistic achievements of emperors, concubines and court officials. Highlights include exquisite ceramics, jade carvings and goldwork. It also collaborates for special exhibitions and builds its own collection.

Innovative exhibitions with multimedia displays
The HKPM adopts an innovative curatorial approach with multimedia projects and interactive displays to promote cultural understanding and appreciation.

An architectural masterpiece
Designed by Rocco Design Architects Associates, the majestic architecture is inspired by Chinese art fine details, simple contour and elegant form.  Its stacked atriums create a vertical axis, filling the space with natural light.
