With distinct red slogans against a white exterior and green-framed windows, 170 Yee Kuk Street is sure to catch your eye. This three-storey tenement building built in the 1920s, is a Grade II historic building and a local landmark in Sham Shui Po. Adopting a pre-war veranda design, the building was once home to a picture framing company, with the owner living right upstairs. The red letters on the facade served as advertisement slogans for the types of frames and services that were available. Be sure to take a snap of this unique piece of Hong Kong’s history before leaving this neighbourhood!
