The Airport Authority Hong Kong has launched a new Refund Application Platform for the air passenger departure tax (APDT) starting from 1 October 2025. Eligible passengers who have paid the APDT at the time of purchasing the air tickets may easily apply for tax refunds by simply uploading supporting documents to the platform. Founded in 1956, Yue Fung Loong first began as a rice shop, before it ventured into the textile industry in the 80s. Today, it’s a fabric shop that provides drapery-seaming service. The shop offers over 20 types of fabrics, ranging from cotton cloths and curtains to wedding dress material. Historic fixtures can also be found at the shop, like its old-styled signboard and traditional mosaic tiles. Former apprentices at Yuen Fung Loon even return sometimes to help cut fabrics and make face masks during the pandemic.
