The Airport Authority Hong Kong has launched a new Refund Application Platform for the air passenger departure tax (APDT) starting from 1 October 2025. Eligible passengers who have paid the APDT at the time of purchasing the air tickets may easily apply for tax refunds by simply uploading supporting documents to the platform. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance will be cancelled if Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory after 5pm.
A recognised National Intangible Cultural Heritage, the 67-metre fire dragon adorned with over 10,000 burning incense sticks is paraded by over 300 performers, accompanied by a small LED dragon carried by children. Continuing the tradition that prays for peace and safety, the Dance showcases a cherished, time-honoured custom in Hong Kong.

The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance performance will move to Victoria Park on 6 October at 10:30pm.
Beyond the mesmerising dragon dance, the streets will host a variety of festive installations offering many photo-worthy opportunities. This year, the celebration begins early at Victoria Park, offering photo opportunities from 30 September to 4 October, while a small LED dragon will perform at 7pm from 3 to 4 October, providing a teaser to the festive atmosphere.
Adding to the festive excitement, a series of dynamic performances is also featured, such as a small LED dragon dance, martial arts, drum performances and dances, some of which incorporate traditional Chinese elements. The streets will be decorated with various festive installations and photo spots, such as the luminous Giant Moon, offering a rich and joyful Mid-Autumn experience. This year’s live broadcast will not only cover Victoria Park but also extend to Tung Lo Wan Road, enabling a wider audience to join in the celebration.

A limited number of seats are available for bona fide visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Register your seat starting from 1 October at the Hong Kong Tourism Board Visitor Centres located at Hong Kong International Airport or Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
