Senior Manager, Event & Product Development (Cultural and Heritage Product Marketing)

Location: Hong Kong

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • In line with the HKTB strategy plan, assist Director of Event & Product Development to review and formulate tourism product & third party event promotion strategy – e.g. (District Promotion Campaign,  Cultural events & festivals, tourist facilities & attractions enhancement and other product development matters) on cultural and heritage tourism
  • Develop district promotion strategy from concept development, and marketing initiatives, to the execution of the promotional campaigns and the sustaining programs, e.g. Sham Shui Po District, Old Town Central
  • Identify, assess and groom new, potential and existing tourism products (e.g. temples, heritage sites, infrastructures, etc.) and third-party events (e.g. traditional festivals etc.) to enhance, repackage, and expand their appeal to stimulate visitor arrivals as well as meet the changing needs and expectations of overseas visitors
  • Take lead in coordinating event and product promotion initiatives among functional teams and Worldwide Offices
  • Provide inputs / advice from tourism planning, tourism marketing and  development perspectives to senior management on matters related to tourism development and planning
  • Keep abreast of the latest progress and news of tourism related infrastructures, attractions & events in order to facilitate own department’s and other user departments’ day-to-day operation
  • Work proactively with Government Departments / District organisations / Industry professionals for advice, support and implementation of product & events promotion campaigns
  • Develop and maintain an effective network to collect market intelligence and  solicit support from both public & private sectors to facilitate event organisers / promoters and provide advice on event staging and tourism attraction promotion
  • Identify partnership opportunity for product & event development initiatives as and when appropriate
  • Undertake any other duties / special assignments as directed by the Director & General Manager 

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Background, Knowledge and Experience
    • Good knowledge and understanding of Hong Kong as a tourist destination;
    • Good knowledge on the operation of various Government Departments from the perspective of infrastructural development & event development, particularly in the areas of arts, entertainment and lifestyle; and
    • Previous experience in tourism product development / attractions management / event marketing & promotion / public relations / journalism.
  • Qualification
    • University graduate
    • Proven record of tourism product management and / or event marketing promotion will be advantageous 
    • Solid experience in attractions marketing / events marketing / event-related operations / public relations account servicing
    • 10 years of relevant working experiences of which 5 years at supervisory level
  • Competencies
    • Strategic thinking and planning
    • Innovative and resourceful in soliciting / enhancing possible communication channels for promoting events
    • Good organisational skill, leadership skill and attend to details
    • Proficient and confident in negotiation and persuasion
    • Effective interpersonal skills in fostering and nurturing cohesive working relations with stakeholders and co-workers
    • Able to work independently, handle multi-tasks and set priorities
    • Highly proficient in written & spoken English & Chinese
