HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

• Lead and manage the long-term strategic plan for sustainable growth of mega events in Hong Kong

• Lead and manage the dedicated team serving as the first point of contact to communicate with the global event organisers and facilitate discussions on the necessary arrangements for the events to be held in Hong Kong

• Understand expectations and needs of the organisers, conduct assessments, evaluate the benefits of the events, submit recommendations to the government

• Leverage on HKTB’s existing network including WWOs, together with Economic and Trade Offices and Hong Kong Trade Development Councils and their worldwide offices to scout and attract for world-class events worldwide and promote the development of mega events economy

• Manage and implement the Pilot Scheme for Characteristic Local Tourism Events

• Plan, develop and implement business plans to achieve the set objectives and effectively use allocated resources to achieve maximum results and efficiency

• Establish and foster good relationship with global event organisers, travel industry partners, NTOs particularly in GBA and APAC regions and major stakeholders to acquire the market pulse and intelligence

• Coordinate with various departments within HKTB to enhance value of mega events, support trade partners to develop relevant and value-added products, and strengthen event publicity and promotion to achieve greater economic benefits to the community.
   

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• University graduate with a minimum of 15 years’ relevant working experience, of which at least 7 years in a senior management position, preferably in marketing, public relations, business administration, event management, or other related disciplines

• Solid experience and track record in leading an effective team to achieve meaningful performance in a fast-paced, highly pressurized and political environment

• Strong entrepreneurship, strategic and analytical depth and business acumen and an aptitude for implementation

• Demonstrated problem solving ability with experience providing excellent business insights and recommendations 

• Excellent project management and people management skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to liaise with all stakeholders with finesse. High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is a must

• Excellent general knowledge on wider economic and professional developments in the region

• Excellent marketing sense and presentation skills
