WHO ARE WE?
At the Hong Kong Tourism Board, we are passionate about showcasing our city as a leading and must-visit premier travel destination. We are seeking a driven professional to join our team as Director, Event and Product Development. This role is responsible for facilitating and implementing the events with strong tourism appeal, as well as developing and promoting Hong Kong Neighbourhood products and enhancing tourism-related facilities, with the objective of driving visitor arrivals and elevate the overall visitor experience in Hong Kong.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?
Facilitate the successful execution of events by securing support from government and corporate partners across key areas such as sponsorship, coordination, and operational assistance. Develop and implement overarching strategies to attract and engage stakeholders, while ensuring effective event promotions to international tourists.
Formulate and implement strategies for neighbourhood product development, heritage, festivals, and tourism enhancement, including identifying emerging districts, revitalising areas, and delivering initiatives under the Hong Kong Neighbourhood Tourism Programme. Oversee product promotion, marketing partnerships, cooperative campaigns, and facility upgrades to elevate district appeal.
Collaborate with HKTB’s worldwide offices to drive international participation and maximise overseas market reach.
Foster cross-functional coordination to develop integrated media, marketing, and trade engagement plans that enhance visibility, stimulate visitors’ interest, and encourage industry collaboration.
Monitor event quality and visitor satisfaction to ensure positive experiences, drive promotion, and foster revisit intention.
Support the incubation of emerging events by providing strategic guidance and operational assistance to help them evolve into recurring tourism drivers.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
University degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, with a strong track record in event development and campaign marketing − with at least 7 years in managerial capacity.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess market needs and identify opportunities for event development and related tourism products.
Highly self-motivated and independent, with a strong ability to formulate and execute tourism products, festivities, and world-class events. Proven experience in planning and delivering territory-wide events, promotions, and campaigns in Hong Kong.
Strategic and creative thinker with strong capability of managing multiple priorities and delivering results.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills to effectively engage and align internal and external stakeholders in support events and products.
Highly organized and passionate about advancing Hong Kong’s tourism industry.
