Director, Event Management (Culinary & Festival)

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

• Responsible for ideating and curating innovative event concepts and programs for mega events of Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival and Chinese New Year Parade, showcasing Hong Kong’s unique strengths to visitors.
• Prepare event budgets and identify sponsorship income, develop business model to maximise event revenue generation to cover event operating expenses.
• Represent Hong Kong Tourism Board in working meetings with government departments, public organizations, and other stakeholders.  Build and maintain positive relationships, advocate for HKTB’s interests, and articulate our vision and goals.
• Design manpower resources plan and ensure strict adherence to the work schedule and proper delivery and execution of each event.
• Oversee event logistics, lead the event management team, and ensure that all events are executed to the highest quality standards and in the best interest of the organisation.
• Develop, implement and assess effectiveness of contingency plans 
• Work closely to support the Marketing and Corporate Affairs Divisions to implement comprehensive promotional strategies for event publicity, with the goal of optimising event awareness during pre and post-event periods. Monitor and evaluate event publicity to ensure that all sponsorship commitments are met and that the event is meeting its goals and objectives.
• Review the business performance indicators for each event, which will help to measure and improve the event's operational and experiential performance, and ultimately assess the success of the event in meeting its goals and objectives.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• University degree holder with a minimum of 12 years solid experience in event management and promotions, marketing or PR with at least 7 years at management level.  
• Proven track record of developing and managing major territory-wide/ outdoor/ mass participant events/promotions/campaigns will be highly preferred. 
• Highly creative and detail-oriented, able to understand the market needs for tourism-related product/event development and think strategically while also being hands-on in the execution of projects.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to navigate complex and dynamic environments and achieve win-win outcomes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills under tremendous pressure and time constraint, able to lead the team in case of crisis.
• Excellent proficiency in written and oral English and Chinese.
