HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Formulate and implement long-term strategic plan for sustainable growth of overnight MICE visitor (high-net-worth segment) arrivals to Hong Kong by developing and growing the conventions segment, and reinforce Hong Kong as the premier MICE destination. 
  • Drive execution excellence and efficiency of established business development programmes to attract major or high-profile international association and B2B conventions to Hong Kong. 
  • Cultivate and nurture strong partnerships with industry stakeholders, including professional bodies, academic institutions, trade and industry associations, travel trade partners etc. through proactive outreaching and strategic partnership programmes.
  • Drive Head Office and Worldwide Offices in target business sectors and markets to identify leads for large scale and strategic events, and formula strategy and bid proposal to win the events.
  • Monitor market development and competitors’ activities, identify new business opportunities, and conduct competitive analysis to formulate strategies and drive the conventions business. 
  • Offer one-stop end-to-end facilitation to event organisers to deliver high quality and world-class MICE events from planning, execution, marketing, hospitality, and post-event evaluation. Support event organisers to encourage attendees to extend stay before or after the conferences to experience the destination offerings.
  • Participate in international industry events, overseas MICE trade shows, and study mission to market Hong Kong as the premier MICE destination.
     

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism, Hotel or Hospitality.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ work experience in the business development and MICE industry, of which at least 7 years in a senior management position to drive business development.
  • Strong entrepreneurship and strategic thinking, and acute business acumen with proven ability to formulate short and long-term business and marketing plans. 
  • Highly self-motivated with proven sales track record on securing MICE events to Hong Kong, with established industry connections.
  • Excellent project management skill with ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation ability and excellent linguistic skills (both spoken and written) in English, Chinese and preferably Putonghua.
  • Solid experience and track record in leading an effective team to achieve meaningful performance in a fast-paced, highly pressurised and political environment.
  • Passionate about tourism and MICE business development of Hong Kong. Willing to travel.
