2025 Sun Hung Kai Properties
Hong Kong Cyclothon

The 2025 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon will kick off on 30 November, inviting thousands of riders from around the world to experience Hong Kong’s unique blend of sports and tourism in a brand-new way. The 32 km and 50 km rides offer you an opportunity to pedal past iconic landmarks, bridges and tunnels, while enjoying Hong Kong’s picturesque urban scenery. The rides finish at Jordan Road Flyover, and a carnival will be held at the West Kowloon Cultural District. Throughout the day, the carnival will offer a dynamic mix of music and sports performances, alongside food booths, sports gear markets, interactive emerging sports experiences and art workshops.

Races will be livestreamed on a giant screen to ensure not a second of the action is missed. Meanwhile, families can register for the Family Fun Ride, enjoying interactive parent-child activities in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Local cyclists will vie for glory alongside riders from the Greater Bay Area on a new course introduced for this category. Notably, the route of Men’s Open Race shuttles through two tunnels and two iconic bridges, showcasing the dynamic spirit of Hong Kong’s urban landscape. Stay tuned for more details on the event!

Entry requirements

All registrants of the 32 km Ride and the 50 km Ride are required to attend a cycling technique assessment. Exemption will be granted to:

  1. Participants who passed the Cycling Technique Assessment of the 2024 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon;
  2. Finishers of the 50 km Ride, the 32 km Ride or the 30 km Ride of the 2022, 2023 or 2024 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon;
  3. Participants who have completed road races organised by the Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China (CAHK) between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025;
  4. Participants who have completed road races organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025; or
  5. Experienced cyclists who have completed other eligible cycling competitions (such as those by any of the National Cycling Federations) or mass road events held between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025.

Cycling categories

Whether you are a seasoned professional or simply a cycling enthusiast, the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon includes a great variety of rides for you to enjoy.

50 km Ride

Open to both professional and experienced amateur cyclists registering as individuals or teams (max. 10 persons per team). This category is a great way to challenge yourself or build team spirit while taking in some of Hong Kong’s iconic sights.

Age limit: 16-70 years old
Registration fee*: Individual — HK$600
Team — HK$14,500 (including a donation of HK$3,000 to a designated charitable beneficiary)
Venues: Assembly and start: Tsim Sha Tsui East
Finish: Jordan Road Flyover
Route: The route runs from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsing Yi via Cheung Tsing Tunnel, heads towards Tsing Ma Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, Nam Wan Tunnel, Stonecutters Bridge, Eagle’s Nest Tunnel and Sha Tin Heights Tunnel before returning to West Kowloon.

This scenic route between Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsing Yi is ideal for experienced amateur cyclists.

Age limit: 16–70 years old
Registration fee*: Individual — HK$280
Team — HK$7,500 (including a donation of HK$1,500 to a designated charitable beneficiary)
Venues: Assembly and start: Tsim Sha Tsui East
Finish: Jordan Road Flyover
Route: The route runs from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsing Yi via Cheung Tsing Tunnel, heading towards Ting Kau Bridge, Nam Wan Tunnel and Stonecutters Bridge, before returning to West Kowloon.

Family Fun Ride

Bring your bike to enjoy an obstacle cycling game inside the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Format and age limit: One parent/guardian (18–70 years old) and one child (6–17 years old)
Registration fee: HK$100 (full donation to a designated charitable beneficiary)
Venues: Start and finish: West Kowloon Cultural District
Route: One loop around a 1 km route, with obstacle stations, that runs inside the West Kowloon Cultural District.

City Cycling Challenge around Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) — Sun Hung Kai Properties Men’s Open and Women’s Open

Professional local and Greater Bay Area riders will compete for the coveted glory along a racecourse in the heart of Hong Kong.

Criteria:
  1. 2025–26 racing members of the CAHK who have completed a road race organised by CAHK between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025;
  2. 2025–26 racing members of CAHK who have completed a road race organised by the UCI between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025; or
  3. 2025–26 racing members of CAHK who have completed other eligible cycling competitions (such as those by any of the National Cycling Federations) or mass road events held between 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2025.
Age limit: 16–70 years old
Registration fee*: Men’s Open Race — HK$350
Women’s Open Race — HK$350
Venues: Assembly and start: Tsim Sha Tsui East
Finish: Jordan Road Flyover
Route: Men’s Open Race — the 30 km route runs from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsing Yi via Cheung Tsing Tunnel, heading towards Ting Kau Bridge, Nam Wan Tunnel and Stonecutters Bridge, before returning to West Kowloon.
Women’s Open Race — the 8 km route runs from Tsim Sha Tsui to West Kowloon.

CEO Charity and Celebrity Ride

This is a cycling parade to support a designated charitable beneficiary.

Format and age limit: Company top executives, public figures and celebrities from various industries will be invited (18–70 years old)
Registration fee: HK$15,000 (full donation to a designated charitable beneficiary)
Venues: Start and finish: West Kowloon Cultural District
Route and number of laps: Two loops around a 1 km route that runs inside the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Prepare for Cyclothon

bossini has curated a series of preparatory workshops, together with former members of the Hong Kong cycling team and professional coaches, to equip you from start to finish — covering gear, techniques, fitness and strategy to help you fully upgrade and perform your best on the event day!

Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon preparatory workshops include:
  • Cyclist-specific strength and conditioning training: Professional coaches will guide participants through strength and conditioning designed for cyclists, enhancing core strength, explosiveness and endurance, complemented by proper warm-ups and stretching to reduce injury risks.

  • Final reparation and training × route analysis: Participants will gain insights into the Cyclothon route and key strategies for each section, followed by approximately one hour of professional cycling training led by former members of the Hong Kong cycling team.

  • Bike inspection and maintenance × route analysis: In addition to route analysis, participants will learn essential bike inspection techniques. On-site checks with minor adjustments will be provided to ensure bikes are in optimal condition for the event.
