Built in 1960, the Former North Kowloon Magistracy served as a judiciary magistrates’ court during the post-war period in Hong Kong. The seven-storey building features tall, narrow windows as well as a symmetrical double staircase leading up to its grand entrance on Tai Po Road — this is a great example of Neo-classical architecture in Hong Kong. After serving the community for over 40 years, the courts closed in 2005 and the building was eventually converted into use as the Hong Kong campus of the Savannah College of Art and Design from 2010 until 2020.
