Manager, Trade Development

  • Plan and execute new cross-industry collaborative approaches and programmes that generate new business opportunities, not limited to funding/non funding scheme support for travel trade partners in promoting Hong Kong.
  • Establish strong partnership and maintain close communication with travel agent stakeholders so as to obtain their supports on HKTB’s initiatives/local tactical activities/events and to facilitate their promotional efforts.
  • Collect market intelligence and identify potential issues, sentiment and analyze feedbacks from travel trade and the markets on promotion programs to derive insights and provide recommendation for strategies development and program enhancements.
  • Leverage on resource and experience to monitor progress and analytical evaluation timely on trade development programs as to ensure the most effective promotions are conducted.
  • Provide thought leadership among different teams in Head Office/overseas offices in formulating effective consumer and trade development programs in Hong Kong/overseas, such as travel missions, trade shows, familiarisation programs, in order to boost conversion of visitor’s interests into business in accordance with the agreed strategic directions.
  • Provide planning, organising and execution supports on ad-hoc marketing activities as assigned by the Senior Manager.
  • Supervise, coach and develop team members in the execution of their duties.  Assist in their career development and ensure a succession plan is in place.
  • Manage the marketing budget as well as all reporting and contribute to Business Plan formulation.
  • To undertake any other duties and assignments as directed by the Senior Manager. 



  • University degree holder with at least 8 years of marketing/sales/business development experience in tourism industry, of which 2 years is at managerial level
  • Good understanding of Hong Kong tourism services is a MUST
  • Analytical, strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Mature, multi-tasked, able to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skill, self-motivated, proactive and able to establish good relationship and to negotiate effectively with both internal parties and external stakeholders
  • High proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and English is essential, other languages an advantage
