HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • In line with HKTB strategic plan and the needs of key source markets and target segments, the incumbent will report to the General Manager, Event and Product Development and is responsible for formulating strategies and implementing programs on cultural and heritage tourism, this involves:

    • Provide strategic plan on the matters related to tourism planning, tourism product development, marketing and positioning;

    • Drive the development of experience-centric tourism products and offerings on cultural and heritage aspects;  

    • Keep abreast of the latest progress and news of tourism-related infrastructures and developments, form and maintain a group of local experts on history, culture, and traditions in order to collate and compile inputs from HKTB and travel trade for Governmental feasibility studies, development projects, and district enhancement works;  

    • Develop district promotion strategy for Old Town Central, Sham Shui Po, West Kowloon, and the new neighborhoods from concept development, and marketing initiatives, to the execution of the promotional campaigns and the sustaining programs; 

    • Identify and assess the new and/or existing tourism products (e.g. temples, heritage sites, infrastructures, etc.) and third-party events (e.g. traditional festivals i.e. Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, Cheung Chau Bun Festival, etc.), enhance and improve, repackage and bundle, and expand their appeal to stimulate and attract visitor arrivals as well as meet the changing needs and expectations of overseas visitors;

    • Provide recommendations on Visitor Signage Improvement Scheme for timely updates and enhance the provision of visitors’ facilities;

    • Develop and coordinate with external parties and internal departments on the promotion of tourism products, facilities and events so that a concerted and effective plan can be implemented;  

  • Lead, supervise and manage two funding schemes i.e. Pilot Scheme to support tourism activities showcasing Hong Kong’s local characteristics, and the Special Events Support Fund to support international events with a significant impact on Hong Kong

    • Work closely with the Secretariat Office of the funding schemes to oversee scheme management and ensure smooth operation of the schemes;

    • Coordinate with Secretariat Office to review and analyse the funding applications and assist to make recommendations for the Evaluation Panel to consider;

    • Evaluate and analyse the event results in accordance with the agreed key performance indicators, and ensure all procurement requirements are adhered to before making recommendations to the Evaluation Panel and/or Product & Event Committee on funding reimbursement 

  • Undertake any other duties/special assignments as directed by the senior management 

     

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Tourism Product Management or relevant disciplines; 

  • At least 15 years of relevant working experience with 5 years at the supervisory level with a proven record in tourism products, and campaign marketing;

  • Knowledgeable of the functionality and operation of various government departments/ commercial sectors in the aspects of tourism development and event management

  • Strategic and creative, good organisational and leadership skills, ability to work independently, handle multi-tasks, set priorities and strong time management 

  • Effective interpersonal skills in fostering and nurturing cohesive working relations with stakeholders and co-workers, proficient and confident in negotiation and persuasion

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, Putonghua is an added advantage
