Hop aboard an air-conditioned coach to explore the 140 million-year-old volcanic rock formation in Sai Kung which is rarely matched elsewhere in the world in terms of scale and composition! Your coach will stop at the East Dam of the High Island Reservoir for one of the best views of the hexagonal volcanic rock columns. Averaging 1.2 metres in diameter and covering an area of 100 sq km (including the sea area). Visitors here can get a close-up view of various geographical phenomena including faults, folds, twisted columns and dyke intrusions.
This geo-tour also includes a visit to the Geopark Visitor Centre in Sai Kung, located inside the Lions Nature Education Centre in Tsiu Hang. The visitor centre is equipped with facilities and interactive displays to enrich visitors’ geological learning experiences. After visiting, tour participants will be transferred to downtown by coach.

Itinerary
Coach ride to Sai Kung and stop at the East Dam of High Island Reservoir, tour the High Island Geo Trail to appreciate the spectacular hexagonal volcanic rock columns followed by visit to the Geoheritage Information Centre and the Geopark Visitor Centre at Sai Kung to know more about the geological knowledge and the scientific aspect of the geo-sites. A stop at Sai Kung Market Town will be included.
