The World on Paper: From Square to Sphericity

The exhibition divides into four sections, which include the development of Chinese and Western navigation and cartography, traditional Chinese cartography, the encounter of Chinese and Western maps during the Ming and Qing dynasties and mapmaking of China in the region of the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong. It exhibits over 80 rare maps and charts documenting the Pearl River Delta, coastal China and Southeast Asia, and approximately 50 books and cartographic tools and instruments from the late Qing and early Republican era. Visitors can understand the culture and history of Chinese cartography and the unique artistic essence of these maps.
