Chrysanthemum and Dragon: The Art of Ornamentation in Japan and China in the 17th–19th Century
The exhibition offers an insight into the differing yet equally lavish arts and crafts movements in China and Japan during the 17th to 19th century, which allows visitors to compare the craftsmanship of both cultures side-by-side. It features over 180 Japanese objects, over 50 objects from the museum’s classical Ming and Qing dynasties’ furniture collection and over 30 sets of original European vanities.
