An Age of Luxury: the Assyrians to Alexander

Developed by the British Museum, the exhibition arrives at Hong Kong as the first station, where over 200 exhibits tell the stories of the ‘Age of Luxury’ of the ancient Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian empires.

Known for monumental architectural splendours such as foundation stones of palaces, columns of gardens and fortifications, the Mediterranean, Levant and Mesopotamia areas have also seen precious items such as metal, reliefs, ivory, gems and stones excavated from archaeological sites — an illustration of the renowned period of the ancient Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian empires from 900 to 300 BC.
