Hong Kong International Airport is located at Chek Lap Kok off Lantau Island, linked to urban areas via a dramatic chain of highways, railways and bridges. Hong Kong Island is less than 30 minutes away by MTR Airport Express.

Designed by acclaimed British architect Lord Norman Foster, this awesome state-of-the-art structure completed in 1998 was voted one of the Top 10 construction achievements of the 20th century. It remains one of the world's largest and most modern airports, and is frequently voted the best by passengers.

The two runways and two terminals serve about 90 airlines from all over the world. The total airport site measures 1,255 hectares and it has an annual passenger throughput of about forty something million. It routinely handles about over 3 million tonnes of cargo a year. The terminals contain extensive facilities for shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment.
