When to shop
There’s never a bad time to shop in Hong Kong. The city’s unflinching entrepreneurial spirit has made shopping a way of life here, and it ticks on year-round. But consumption typically hits its peak during the winter and summer months, when new fashion seasons coincide with sales.
While there’s no formal beginning or end to any of these sales cycles, generally speaking, December to February is a popular period for sales, especially before and during Christmas and in the run-up to Chinese New Year. Many fresh spring and summer fashion collections start hitting shelves around this time too.
Sometime during July to September, many of Hong Kong’s retailers throw attractive summer sales promotions to lure people back from the city’s beaches. This is also the time that many fashion labels begin to launch their latest autumn/winter looks.
