Topping your list of must-dos during the Hong Kong Cultural Celebrations (13 – 29 April) is a visit to the island of Cheung Chau where residents celebrate their Bun Festival (25 – 29 April) with huge towers of buns and a parade of costumed children who float above the heads of the cheering crowd. On 28 April, you can participate in a bathing ritual during birthday celebrations for the Buddha on Lantau Island. Or, join local fishermen as they celebrate the birthday of popular deity, Tam Kung. On 13 April, you can make a pilgrimage to a local temple with fishermen to celebrate the birthday of Tin Hau, patron saint of fishermen.
