The summer of 2008 was certainly one to remember! On top of all the excitement and hoopla surrounding the Equestrian Events of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong, visitors to Asia's world city also enjoyed endless indulgence and surprises during Hong Kong Summer Temptations (HKST) organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). From 1 July until 21 September, this HKTB mega event tempted visitors with a stunning array of fun and surprises.
Visitors could indulge themselves in a variety of amazing promotions and surprises through 'Shopping Hotpicks' at key shopping malls and department stores. HKST also presented the 'Dining Spree' to savour scrumptious culinary delights and wine promotions at many restaurants around town as well as delicious dining treats in most popular dining districts. On top of these wonderful shop and dine experiences, they could participate in the Visa 'Million Dollar Travel Bonanza' Lucky Draw and had the opportunity to win over HK$1 million in travel awards!
There was more fun in store for anyone who purchased any MTR tourist ticket. They received their free MTR Summer Temptations Tourist Guide packed with useful information and over 40 privilege offers, guaranteed to enhance their shopping, dining and entertainment pleasure while in Hong Kong.
HKST was also a fantastic opportunity for visitors to experience the city's living culture, that fascinating blend of east-meets-west cultural influences that make Hong Kong such a unique destination. What better way to do that then to play 'Explore Hong Kong Stamp Rally' Game. Visitors visited three Hong Kong attractions and then collected an exquisite box-set of Chinese delicacies.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board would like to take this opportunity to thank all the merchants and restaurants who participated in this year's HKST and we hope that visitors had a fantastic time sampling Hong Kong great hospitality and unique living culture.
See you all in 2009!
