The 2006 Hong Kong Shopping Festival, which concluded on 31 August, provided visitors with an unprecedented opportunity to discover Hong Kong as a shopper's paradise and one of the most popular Asian destinations.

The Shopping Festival also featured a wonderful anchor event called Aqua Fantasia, located next to the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui. Aqua Fantasia was a multimedia extravaganza featuring stirring music and colourful images on a transforming water curtain created using the cutting edge technology of Aqua Graphic Vision, as pioneered in Asia.

Shoppers indulged themselves in a diverse shopping experience like no other - enjoying fantastic sales and special shopping and dining promotions during the summer months. Shoppers could give themselves a real retail workout, choosing from a galaxy of stores to satisfy their shopping desires. Besides shopping at Hong Kong's participating malls and department stores, there were bargains galore to be found at hip and trendy boutiques, in the street markets, along the distinctive themed shopping streets, at top-brand flagship stores and in specialty store clusters.
