Building on Hong Kong's culinary strength and the exemption of wine duty, as well as the introduction of the Michelin Guide - Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has adopted the 'Hong Kong Food and Wine Year' as the marketing platform for 2009 to further highlight Hong Kong's position as one of the leading culinary and wine hubs in Asia. A series of gastronomical events featuring fine wine, food, festivities and fun will be organised from April 2009 to March 2010 with an aim to providing an opportunity for visitors to experience and enjoy a world of food and wine in Hong Kong.
 
 

The First Ever Outdoor Wine & Dine Festival
The first ever Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival, a festive, upscale event showcasing wines from national and international wineries paired with food from local restaurants and culinary personalities will be held between 30 October – 1 November 2009, at the best vantage point for the world renowned Victoria Harbour. This three-day event will be a spectacular gathering of wine, food, music and fun. Thousands of wine lovers will flock to this festival making this one of the most desirable wine consumer event of the year, where people can savour familiar wines, while enjoying the opportunity to discover new favourites from many brilliant wineries from all over the world, in one single place.
