Then it's on to the highest point of land in Kowloon for panoramic views
of Hong Kong's splendid Victoria Harbour and the runway at the former
Kai Tak airport. You'll find out how the range of hills around the Kowloon
Peninsula and the water in Victoria Harbour work together to create good feng
shui for Hong Kong.
Sham Shui Po / Shek Kip Mei Public Housing Estate
Sham Shui Po is a colourful Kowloon community, home to some of
Hong Kong's original public housing estates such as the
ones you'll see in Shek Kip Mei. Here you can have a close-up
look at the housing provided to the local residents and get a
glimpse of the lifestyle of those who live here. Sham Shui Po
is also a commercial hub with many factory outlets selling discount
clothes. The area also features some great flea markets.
Apliu Street Flea Market
Welcome to the Apliu Street flea market where the latest game consoles,
computers, cameras and DVD players are sold. Nearby, you can
find alleys packed with shops selling ribbons, bows, buttons
and other trinkets of interest. You can sometimes find antique
clocks, old coins, other collectibles, and pleasant surprises.
