Hong Kong's star will rise even higher in the sky as it joins a select group of Olympic Games host cities when it holds the Equestrian Events of the 29th Olympiad in Beijing in August 2008.

These equestrian events are the only competitions in the Olympics in which a person partners with a horse. It is also one of the very few events where men and women compete on equal terms.

The Olympic Equestrian Events comprise three disciplines - Dressage, Jumping and Eventing - with individual and team competitions in each, so riders are competing for six sets of medals.

Dates: 9 - 21 August 2008
