There may be lots of international-chain designer shops in Hong Kong—and yes, you can always find a variety of products from all over the world—but have you ever visited some of the unique Hong Kong-style boutiques? These small shops are a source of locally made products and also provide a way to experience the fusion of Chinese and Western culture.

Daydream Nation is established by brother and sister team Wong Qi and Wong Jing. The products are full of fantasy, and there is always an interesting story behind each design. The shop inside the Hong Kong Arts Centre is decked out like a circus. Sometimes the shelves are stocked with other brands too, so you’ll be surprised how quickly this becomes your favorite place to shop.

The shop’s name Final Fragments reflects that feeling of finding the last—the missing—piece, implying a beautiful movement from imperfection to perfection. It mainly sells cotton and hemp clothing; the cut and monotone color of the clothes giving them their own unique character. You’ll also find other ‘zakka’ (cute, miscellaneous) knickknacks, some handmade tote bags and furniture in clear, simple designs. It’s a good place to shop for someone loving little cute things.

There are two Kapok shops in Wan Chai: one for shoes and accessories, another one for creative, miscellaneous goods.
