Move over women: Hong Kong’s fashion industry is seeing an influx of male designers who are creating collections exclusively for men. Read on for an insight into some of the best in the business.


A lifestyle concept showroom down in Aberdeen, Ed1tus brings gorgeous products and accessories from all over the world to Hong Kong. Though you can’t actually buy on-site, you can browse the urban-chic showroom and order whatever strikes your fancy. Look for the gleaming leather bag brand Travelteq, which hails from Amsterdam, as well as durable handmade shoes from C.B. Made in Italy—each pair takes three hours to make in its Northern Italian workshop. The showroom is also available as a private events venue, and can host up to 1,000 people.

Goods of Desire (G.O.D.) is known for its creative homewares, but it also stocks its fair share of fashion and accessories. Everything from the flip-flops to the wallets to the hoodies reflects Hong Kong and its unique East-meets-West characteristics. Founded as a small retail store in 1996, G.O.D. now has six stores around Hong Kong, as well as an outpost in Singapore.

Hola Classic

Hola Classic sells elegant, charming men’s clothing. Heavy on the tweeds, it’s classic English tailoring with a little bit of hipster flair. In addition to bespoke outfits, you can also find socks, ties, and plenty of cufflinks to round out your outfit.

A longtime funky favorite, Kapok specializes in creative and authentic craftsmanship. You’ll find a range of lifestyle and fashion products from countries like the US and Denmark, including awesome sweaters, notebooks, shoes, messenger bags and more. Massimo Dutti

The two-story Massimo Dutti offers contemporary versions of classic European-style pieces—solid building blocks of a work wardrobe. The interesting cuts and details turn potentially drab basics into interesting but very wearable pieces. We particularly love the leather accessories—with classy shoes, wallets and belts for all occasions.

At this urban-chic studio, designers David Ericsson and Alexis Holm present their designed-in-Hong Kong wares. Find hipster-tastic plimsolls and canvas duffel bags, as well as timepieces by the Void Watches brand, which is run and designed by David himself. A strong Scandinavian aesthetic is present in all the designs, where simplicity and functionality are in abundance. There are also beautiful pieces from Swedish designers, including Fjallraven’s outdoor gear and Corneila Webb’s fine jewellery. Free delivery in Hong Kong.

The Armoury

With one of the most dapper teams around, The Armoury is a classy men’s outfitter that focuses on classic styles with a very British feel. There are gorgeous Hong Kong-inspired cufflinks, as well as beautifully crafted shirts, slacks, and everything in between. There are ready-to-wear garments from the likes of Ascot Chang, Carmina, Drake’s, Fox Umbrellas, Nackymade and Locke & Co—but you can also order custom-made apparel if there’s something in particular you’re looking for.

Gough Street is one of Hong Kong’s hippest areas, and the trendiness bar has been raised even higher with the addition of lifestyle concept store WOAW!, which stands for World of Amazing Wonders. The store opened last year as a haven for all things interesting. From Karen Walker sunnies to funky shoes to totally unique travel bags, the venture from designer and entrepreneur Kevin Poon is sure to add some fresh finds to your home and wardrobe. It also has Hershel bags for almost every occasion, whether you need a duffel for travel or a tote for shopping.

Zee’s Leather Co.

This hole-in-the-wall shop is lined with gorgeous leather shoes—all samples that you can order to custom-fit your feet. The ultimate luxury, bespoke shoes are not only as comfortable as they come, but they can also be as plain or detailed as you like. Stock up on custom-made French calf shoes or some double-monk straps. You can also have a belt made to match.
