Sai Kung is fondly claimed to be the 'back garden of Hong Kong', where city dwellers love to hike and camp in the green country parks, fish or sail in the sheltered waters, BBQ or sunbathe on secluded beaches, and swim or snorkel in the clear blue waters. You’ll make your journey to this laid-back haven by first cruising through Hebe Haven and Port Shelter, which boast peaceful waters that make them hot spots for sailing, yachting, scuba diving and squid fishing. Then, you’ll make your way to the historic Hung Shing Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site on Kau Sai Chau. You’ll then re-board the boat to sail across the cluster of islands around the most southerly tip of the Sai Kung East Country Park. These islands, which are part of the Hong Kong Global Geopark of China, contain unique and diverse geological features, with rugged outlines, steep coastlines and dramatic volcanic rock columns. The cruise then continues on to Rocky Harbour where you can see some sea caves and scenic coastlines. You’ll finally make your way ashore and walk along the waterfront promenade at Sai Kung Market Town, which is lined with seafood restaurants on the landside, and fishing boats and sampans on the seaside.
