
An intoxicating combination of fine wines and culinary delights amid a stunning harbour backdrop landed this four-day event on the ForbesTraveler.com's top 10 list of international food and wine festivals in its inaugural year.
In 2012, the fourth edition of the American Express Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival offered 188,000 visitors another memorable gourmet extravaganza, with the usual great wines from around the world, international and local culinary creations, wine culture events and superb live entertainment.
New features included the Sweet Pavilion, where fine wines and heavenly desserts were paired, and the latest in wine-related products in the New Products zone.

The stunning Hong Kong skyline is the backdrop to a gourmet feast every year as the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival serves up local and international foods and fine wines from around the world.
In 2012, there were over 310 wine and food booths with wines from 18 countries including Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, France, Georgia, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Ukraine and the USA.
The Riedel Grand Tasting Pavilion showcased an exquisite collection of premium wines and delicacies in a comfortable and stylish setting and hosted a variety of tasting classes.
More than 100 food booths offered award-winning local Chinese and Western dishes, other Hong Kong delicacies and the winning dishes of the prestigious Best of the Best Culinary Awards as well as desserts and non-alcoholic drinks.
Speaking of desserts – those with a weakness for sweetness indulged in heavenly dessert and wine pairings at the Sweet Pavilion.
Sweet tooth or not, you can rest assured that in a city as obsessed with culinary creativity as Hong Kong, all your foodie needs will be met by this event. So save your appetite for 2013!
Wine Culture and entertainment
Cosmopolitan Hong Kong is a fitting place to experience the diversity of the world’s wine cultures. And the American Express Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival includes fascinating Wine Culture Celebration events that demonstrate the different ways in which wine and food are appreciated around the world.
In 2012, the passion of Spain was a main feature of Wine Culture Celebration with a great evening of Spanish food, entertainment and wines, including those awarded in the Spanish Wine Challenge organised by the Hong Kong Sommelier Association. Hong Kong’s trademark passion for fusion was satisfied by pairing Spanish wines with the Best of the Best Culinary Award dishes.
Festival goers were also immersed in Italian wine and food culture with the country’s renowned street food, Michelin chefs, wine, live entertainment and fashion.
