Hong Kong New Year Countdown Celebrations
At 11pm on 31 December 2012, ‘shooting stars’ whizzed over Victoria Harbour. The hundreds of thousands of spectators that had gathered on the harbour-side made wishes and waited for midnight, when the city erupted into an eight-minute pyrotechnics display that started on the waters of the harbour and moved landwards, enveloping the skyscrapers on the shore, with the iconic Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre as the focal point.
That was how Hong Kong marked the start of 2013. And you can expect an equally spectacular start to 2014. So, get yourself to Asia’s world city next New Year’s Eve. Pick a spot, join the party and welcome a new year with all the breathless excitement and glamour of a Hong Kong celebration!
