The Happy Prince

Based on the classic short story by Oscar Wilde, a small swallow meets and makes friends with the statue of the late 'Happy Prince'. Contained within the statue is the soul of the original prince, who in reality never experienced true happiness. The statue is moved by the suffering he sees around him, and asks the swallow to peel off his gold covering and give it to various poor and needy people. Inspired by the statue's selfless acts, the swallow devotes all its efforts and even its life to serving others.
