Face
painting is an integral and unique aspect of Cantonese opera. Personalities
and expressions created through the elaborate use of colour tell the
audience much about the individual characters and who they are. Participants
in this fascinating introduction to the timeless art are fully dressed
in traditional Cantonese opera costume, as well as having their faces
made up and hair dressed. A professional photographer then teaches
participants how to pose in the classic style. A range of costumes
is available, from warrior, lady general or scholar, to emperor or
empress.
