What to See and What to Do

The Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games (5 to 13 December) will provide a venue for stunning athletic performances from some of the region’s brightest stars. Top-class athletes from nine participating countries and places: The People's Republic of China; Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Hong Kong, China; Japan; South Korea; Macau, China; Mongolia; Chinese Taipei and Guam are taking part. More than 3,000 athletes will take part competing in 22 sports. A total of 262 gold medals will be up for grabs. Book your tickets now for what is sure to be a thrilling athletic contest.

Hong Kong is a vibrant, exciting city. In contrast to the metropolitan scene of bustling streets is the 100-kilometre-long MacLehose Trail. The trail crosses eight of Hong Kong's country parks, showcasing the scenic beauty of the wilderness. Nature Lovers will encounter beautiful sea views and unique rock formations, catch the rising and setting of the sun and experience the magnificent mountain ranges of Hong Kong. As it coincides with the Oxfam Trailwalker this month, you may meet with other hikers taking the Oxfam Trailwalker training session and they’ll be happy to share their exciting hiking experiences with you.
