February 11 -Chinese New Year's Eve

Traditions:
Families enjoy a big festive meal and visit colourful flower markets, which run virtually all night long, to shop for lucky flowers and plants to herald the Lunar New Year. Later, around midnight, throngs offer prayers at the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple, hoping their wishes will be granted thoughout the year of the Horse. People queue up early in the day to be first in line to make their offerings to this popular deity.

Suggested activities:
Catch all the excitement of Chinese New Year with a visit to the New Year's flower markets in Victoria Park (Causeway Bay) or Fa Hui Park in Mong Kok. Next, stroll along the Promenade in Tsim Sha Tsui and enjoy the splendid views along the harbourfront - all part of the "CLP Lights Up Hong Kong'' extravaganza. Drop by Centenary Park in nearby Tsim Sha Tsui East and enjoy the "Rhythm of Light-Aqua Fantasia" musical fountain show. Take photos and enter the City of Life: Hong Kong is it!
