Jewellery Appreciation Class
Back to Section Index

Learn the secrets of buying diamonds, pearls and jade from two jewellery experts who will help you identify the most important qualities and design trends to look for:

Diamonds are a symbol for love, success and authority. Most likely, you will purchase diamonds at least once in your lifetime - but would you know the real thing from crystal?

Pearls have long been a symbol of purity in China. Each is a tiny miracle - individually and uniquely cultured.

For centuries, jade has been highly prized throughout Asia. In Chinese lore, jade is believed to have magical powers that protect the wearer from physical harm.

Hosts Henry Cheng and Alex Chan provide you with the expert knowledge that they have obtained through a combined half-century of jewellery and gemological experience.

Mr Cheng graduated as a UK gemologist in 1987. He is a Past President of the Gemmological Association of Hong Kong. Mr Chan is an experienced jeweller and custom designer who specialises in gemstone buying.
