Hong Kong’s largest outdoor sporting event attracts some of the top runners from around the globe every year. This event involves a full marathon, a half marathon and a 10km run on courses that take runners past some of the city's most stunning scenery. A record-breaking 65,000 runners participated in Hong Kong Marathon 2011, with hundreds of spectators cheering them on along the routes.
The next Hong Kong Marathon will take place on 5 February 2012 and the enrolment quota has been increased to 70,000 runners with the record-high prize money of US$227,000. Two new categories, a Full Marathon Wheelchair Race and a special 3km Wheelchair Race, will also be included for the first time in the event. Please join the event in 2012 or cheer for the runners along the route.
