Hong Kong Musical Festival
This large-scale musical festival brings you a total of 45 performances of four superb musicals featuring a mix of local and Western culture, including:
The Sound of Music: This is a remake of the original Broadway production, featuring many timeless, classic melodies including the title song 'The Sound of Music', 'Edelweiss', 'My Favourite Things', 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain' and 'Do-Re-Mi'.
Master Q: Originating from 'Old Master Q' – a popular Hong Kong comic for over 30 years, this musical is about the life of this classic character living in 1960s Hong Kong and delivers endless fun and laughs for the whole family.
Shooting Star: This musical tells the engrossing story of three young talents who face different problems as they develop their careers as singer and top DJ. It’s a story about friendship, dreams and the problems facing today’s younger generation such as drug abuse, gambling and mood disorders.
She Came From Beijing: Based on the real life experience of Perry Chiu, one of the most well-known stage actresses in Hong Kong, the musical is about an encounter between a girl from Beijing seeking her fortune in Hong Kong and an impresario with the Midas touch.
