The 2006 Best of the Best Culinary Awards competition, organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to identify the finest examples of Hong Kong's representative dishes, has been successfully concluded with the judges selecting the winners as listed below.

Once again, this annual cooking event has demonstrated why Hong Kong is renowned for its culinary excellence and carries the mantle of Culinary Capital of Asia.
 
 
 
The 2006 Best of the Best Culinary Awards attracted a record 436 entries in the four dish categories of Steamed, Stir-Fried, Sweet & Sour, and Seafood and Vegetable. The winners were chosen from 44 finalists who competed before the judges at the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute on 9 - 10 October. The top dishes from each category were honoured with Gold with Distinction Awards, Gold Awards and Silver Awards:
 

A 2006 Best of the Best Culinary Guide featuring the prize-winning dishes and details of the winning restaurants, along with winners from previous competitions, is available locally and internationally.
