Located near the former British governors' residence, these gardens were laid out in 1864 to the design of a nature-loving governor. They are open every day and are a popular place to join in the early morning tai chi exercises. A major feature of the gardens is a zoo with about 400 birds, 70 mammals and 50 reptiles.
