Scenic Routes
Joggers looking for scenic routes on Hong Kong Island should head up to Bowen Road in the Mid-Levels or the roads around The Peak – the views are spectacular!
Bowen Road
One of Hong Kong's oldest 'roads', this flat, paved path on the hillside above Happy Valley, Wan Chai and Central is a popular walking and jogging trail. The 2.5-kilometre trail snakes through dense tropical foliage, occasionally broken by spectacular views of the harbour and the city skyline. Halfway along is Lovers' Stone, a nine-metre-high granite monolith worshipped by those in search of romance.
The Peak – Harlech Road & Lugard Road
This route around The Peak offers joggers stunning views across the island to the east, south over Aberdeen and the South China Sea, west across to the bigger outlying islands, and north across Victoria Harbour to Kowloon. The 3.5-kilometre circuit offers surprises all along the way, as heavily wooded sections suddenly cut away to offer glimpses of picture-postcard vistas below. It is possible to break off onto other routes that lead down to Western and Central.
