A whimsical experience for families from Tin Shui Wai district at “A Holiday of Tiffany Treasures”
Around 30 children and parents living in Tin Shui Wai district were invited to “A Holiday of Tiffany Treasures”, a spotlight of the 2011 Hong Kong WinterFest, where they had the chance to ride on the fairytale-inspired carousel surrounded by a festive touch.

Collaborated with the Hong Kong Single Parents Association, the HKTB provided 16 children with outdoor ice-skating experience under the city’s famous Christmas lights at “Ice Wonderland” - one of the spotlight attractions of “2011 Hong Kong Winterfest” - before it opens to public.

Mr Anthony Lau, HKTB Executive Director, introduced Hong Kong’s strategic partnership with Mainland provinces and cities to tourism practitioners and students at the 7th China Tourism Forum, which is jointly hosted by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hainan University.

Welcome Reception for Hong Kong Pals 2011/12
The newly recruited Hong Kong Pals received a warm welcome from the existing volunteers during the Welcome Reception. To ease them into their new role, the HKTB will arrange for them a variety of training, covering information about Hong Kong’s living culture as well as other tourism-related areas, before they start offering services in October.
At the “Executive Development Seminar” organized by the Faculty of Business of the Hong Kong Baptist University, HKTB Executive Director Mr Anthony Lau, gave an overview on the latest tourism development and HKTB’s strategic focuses, further enhancing their knowledge and interest in local tourism industry.

Sharing with CUHK marketing students
The HKTB always strives to attract young people to join tourism industry by strengthening the relationship with higher education institutions. HKTB Executive Director, Mr Anthony Lau, gave a presentation on promoting Hong Kong tourism at a seminar hosted by the Marketing Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Based on the theme “Hong Kong Simply the Best”, Mr Lau shared with students HKTB’s promotion initiatives under the marketing platform of ‘Asia’s World City’.

To recognize our Immigration Control Officers’ dedication to quality services and hospitality, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has been supporting “The Most Courteous Immigration Control Officer Election” campaign by the Immigration Department for years, appointing the elected winner as the “Hong Kong Courtesy Ambassador”.

Tourism students invited to Hong Kong Tourism Overview for the first time
This year, the HKTB invited about 400 local tertiary students of tourism-related programmes to the Hong Kong Tourism Overview for the first time. Joining the trade representatives, the students were introduced to the latest global tourism development, as well as the HKTB’s strategic focuses and work plans for 2011-12. The HKTB hoped this would help prepare the younger generation for a future career in the tourism industry.

Inviting kids from Children’s Home to enjoy the Chinese New Year Night Parade
As well as imbuing the first evening of the Chinese New Year with festivities and joy, the 2011 Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board also aims to convey the important message of “care for the community” by inviting about 40 children from S K H St Christopher’s Home and Po Leung Kuk to enjoy the parade.
