MR ANTHONY LAU
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
HONG KONG TOURISM BOARD
Mr Anthony Lau is Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), responsible for managing and guiding the development and promotion of the city as one of the world's leading destinations for business and leisure travellers.

Anthony brings to the HKTB his international experience, sales and marketing expertise, as well as general management skills. He began his career in Hong Kong with Philip Morris International in the 1980s and worked his way through the ranks to become a senior management team member of the organisation. Apart from his experience in Hong Kong, Anthony has also gained extensive exposure in the Asia Pacific region through working in different markets, including Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director of the HKTB, Anthony was General Manager – Philip Morris Singapore, responsible for the markets of Singapore, Brunei and the Maldives.

In addition to his corporate management responsibilities, Mr Lau has an active interest in community services. While in Singapore, he was a keen supporter of ethical entrepreneurship among university business students, and acted as a member of the Board of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a global non-profit organisation. He was also heavily involved in supporting a voluntary organisation named "Food from the Heart", which channels unsold bread from bakeries and hotels to welfare organisations and needy families.

Born in Hong Kong, Anthony was educated in the United Kingdom and Canada, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. He is married with one child.
