Located in the southeast part of Fujian province, Putian covers 4,200 square kilometres and possesses unique features that make it a successful port. The city's Meizhou Harbour is one of the few natural deep-water harbours in the world and a rarity in China. It is blessed with gentle waves and calm winds. The harbour never freezes over, nor does it ever silt up, therefore allowing even 100,000-tonne vessels to easily enter and exit the harbour all year round.
Putian has a sub-tropical monsoon climate. Here, flowers bloom the all year and fresh fruit is always in season. The city also has some stunning scenic spots from high majestic mountains to flat lands with meandering streams, as well as the surrounding shimmering ocean. This city is the home to over 250 scenic attractions and cultural sites, making it a rich tourism resource for the province. |
