Asia’s world city rolled out the red carpet in January 2012 to welcome the Year of the Dragon. Beginning 17 January until 6 February, both visitors and locals enjoyed a colourful array of activities all designed to mark the biggest and the best celebration on the Chinese calendar. These activities combined modern and traditional elements reflecting the city’s vibrant east-meets-west vitality. There were stunning flower markets, a mesmerizing night parade, fantastic fireworks, lively sporting events and much, much more. On top of that, there were fantastic winter sales all over town for people looking for that all important new outfit to welcome the new year. Restaurants in the city’s food districts prepared wonderful seasonal menus and festive dishes to put everybody in a happy Chinese New Year mood. Our Chinese New Year celebrations are a truly remarkable occasion to experience the city's living culture. See you in 2013 to welcome the Year of the Snake.
